Forbes Dawson represented by Phil Archer at BMW PGA Championship 2017 in Wentworth, Surrey

We are excited to announce that North West golf star Phil Archer will be wearing Forbes Dawson colours when he competes against the likes of Justin Rose, Henrik Stenson, Lee Westwood and Ian Poulter at the BMW PGA Championship at Wentworth starting tomorrow. Early reports from Phil’s practice sessions are very positive and everyone here at Forbes Dawson wishes him the best of luck.

Phil has had a stellar European tour career with highlights being a round of 60 in a European tour event (see competition to the right), four second place finishes in European Tour events (including a narrow playoff defeat in the Omega European Masters) and a starring role in the 2007 victorious GB and Ireland Seve Trophy team captained by Nick Faldo.

Forbes Dawson have sponsored Phil in conjunction with the recent opening of its London office earlier this week. While Forbes Dawson expects to perform very much above par in London, Phil is hoping for a different result!

Win an hour’s lesson with Phil!

Phil is rapidly becoming the North West’s premier golf coach where he has gained a reputation for mixing sound practical advice with hard to come by ‘Tour Secrets’. Phil has kindly offered an hour’s free lesson to five lucky competition winners. These lessons can be taken at either Poulton Park Golf Club in Warrington or in a deluxe swing room at Tour X Golf (a golfer’s Aladdin’s cave!) near Wigan. All correct answers will be pulled out of a hat.

In which round of which European tournament in which year did Phil Archer famously shoot 60?

Update (06/06/2017): The entries have been collated and the lucky winners drawn for the above competition.
From over 50 entries less than 50% were correct which shows that google is no substitute for reading the question!
The answer was the first round of the Celtic Manor Wales Open in 2006. All bits were needed for a correct answer.
Five lucky winners have already been notified.
Phil played well at Wentworth but battled with a foot injury in the second round to miss the cut. He would like to thank everyone for all their support and will be fighting hard to be at Royal Birkdale for the Open in July.
